Managing Pain

At some stage in your life you may experience physical pain due to injury or disease. Pain may have arisen recently or it may have become ongoing in your life.

You already know pain plays an important role in health. And you are probably aware of how it is works as the body's warning system, the messenger bringing information about a problem in the mind or body. Yet the pain can still seem overwhelming, without practical tools to manage the pain and live more comfortably.

The Two Stages of Pain

Pain is a two stage process:

  • first the physical reality of the pain, bio-chemical messages created by the body
  • second the processing of the pain, emotions arising out of the experience of the pain and actions taken to resolve the problem.

Hypnotherapy and EFT for Pain

I can give you, through hypnotherapy and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), ways to manage pain. My aim is to help you experience life as normally as possible, minimising the effects of pain.

I help you succeed by teaching you a self-hypnosis routine and by giving you a series of CDs to use at home. I also introduce you to EFT and teach you how to use the method for yourself.

The treatments normally involve up to nine one hour sessions.
